Join us on September 21 for a an art, culture, and architectural walking tour through the world famous cemetery of Skogskyrkogården! Skogskyrkogården, also know as “The Woodland Cemetery”, was created between 1917 and 1940 by the architects Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz. On a pine-covered ridge, they created a sacred outdoor space with several small chapels that blend in with nature.

The architects designed the entire cemetery, from the landscape to the smallest lamp. The core of the design is to evoke an experience of death and life being a never ending process.

Skogskyrkogården became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994. Today, it is globally considered one of the most important creations of modern architecture.

Additional information: The distance of the tour is about 2.5 kilometres. Please be sure to arrive at least 5 minutes early (11:25). The tour will begin promptly at 11:30. It lasts 2 hours and finishes at 13:30.
